Barefoot in the grass

A touching and often humorous look at living and loving and surviving in the nineties. By one of Harlequin's most popular romance writers.

You'll laugh and cry with Beth Pendleton as she moves from big-city bustle and life-threatening problems to small-town serenity and small-town solutions. At least, that's the plan. But Ryan Walker and a not-so-small puppy take over her life and her heart in a very big way--and turn them upside down. Barefoot in the Grass is about Beth Pendleton, a breast cancer survivor trying to make a new life for herself in Devon, a small New England town, and Ryan Walker, a local construction worker. It seemed to be love at first sight, but Beth keeps Ryan at arm's length, afraid he will see what she sacrificed to beat breast cancer. But luckily, a mischievious puppy and Ryan himself take over her life and heart in a very big way--and turn them upside down
