Factor Judas, El

Malcolm X rose from a life of petty crime and hustling on the streets of Boston, Detroit, and Harlem to become one of the most powerful and controversial black leaders of the 20th century. Then on February 21, 1965, at the peak of his fervent crusade for black pride and self-reliance, he was shot and killed. Some accused Malcolm's fellow members of the black nationalist group, the Nation of Islam. But many believe the ultimate responsibility for his assassination lay.

Elsewhere. Now, in this fascinating and shocking expose, investigative journalist Karl Evanzz uncovers new evidence of a conspiracy to silence Malcolm X and the entire black nationalist movement. Drawing from fifteen years of research, including hundreds of interviews and the examination of 300,000 pages of declassified FBI and CIA documents, Evanzz provides the first in-depth analysis of the role the intelligence community played (through its counterintelligence arm. COIN-TELPRO) in the Nation of Islam and in instigating the death of one of its most revered - and feared - leaders. Evanzz details Malcolm X's rise and fall, from his childhood spent in foster homes and reform school, to his introduction to the Nation of Islam while incarcerated in a Massachusetts State Prison, to his extremist preaching campaign across the country, and his historic trip to Mecca. He reveals how the FBI and CIA monitored Malcolm X, and through agents. Provocateur and infiltration, manipulated his course. Evanzz links the drive to silence Malcolm X to the CIA's involvement in the overthrow or assassination of other top African and Arab leaders - including the Congo's Partrice Lumumba. Thoroughly documented and illustrated with charts and rare photographs, The Judas Factor: The Plot To Kill Malcolm X is a riveting and often startling work that sheds new light on the tragic death of one of the greatest leaders of our. Time.
