Midnight Waltz

An Invitation to the Dance...and More

In the short time Constance Ames had been at Moreston House, the proper country miss had found herself bedeviled by the most unusual circumstances. First were the anonymous, threatening letters hinting at her scandalous family secrets, followed by her "accidental" tumble in front of a speeding coach--and on the eve of her come-out at the lavish Severn's ball! Then came her introduction to the impertinent Hugh Carlyle.... She was astonished when the gentleman spoke to her. She was amused by his ribald tales. And she was charmed by his promise of something more. How scandalous that a girl who knew nothing of the ways of the world would find so enchanting a rogue who knew all too much! But could Carlyle be part of the scheme that could prove her undoing? It wasn't until the night of the gala event that she realized not only her reputation and safety were in peril, but her heart as well....
