Return Engagement

LOVE LOST The impertinence of the man! Their broken engagement years ago had been a result of Tony Everely's roving way with women, and Francey had no intention of accepting his attentions a second time. As a society hostess of the first order, she was busy enough without a rake like Lord Everely at her side. Still it was flattering to receive his honeyed words and flowery compliments, and Tony was a most handsome man. Once before Tony had found a place in her heart - was it possible that the passion they shared in the past could burn warmer even now?

LOVE REGAINED Six years was a long time for a woman to be angry, mused Tony Everely. It was true that Francey had caught him in a rather compromising position, but surely that was an event of the past. He had become a respectable gentleman and was ready to embark on a political career with the perfect hostess at his side - namely Francey. Her wit and grace would only help his cause, her society connections were invaluable, and her beauty was a pleasure to behold. Marriage to Francey was just the thing and if it meant they could recapture their lost love, then all the better!
