Temporary wife

WEDDED TO AN EARL

Paige's emerald eyes danced merrily when she imagined how the ton would receive that bit of news. For though a lovely lady of quality, Paige was hardly a la mode. Everyone knew she had turned down the offers of three Seasons of society suitors for the quiet company of her companion and her cat! Then, snowbound in a country inn, Paige gave her assent to a marriage proposal of an entirely different nature. Captain David Owens, the dashing new Earl of Pellyn, needed a competent wife-in-name-only for a short span--annulment to come later. Being a lady of independent mind, Paige saw no reason not to help her handsome new friend. But once in David's arms, she would discover that her heart had a mind all its own.
