Beth resented this man's interference!

She.had been elated to discover that she had a grandfather still living; naturally she wanted to meet him as soon as possible. Unfortunately, she happened to meet Ryan Drago first. A longtime friend of her grandfather's, aware of the old man's precarious health, he was suspicious of Beth's motives. Then his suggestion left Beth speechless. "There's one way you could go--and be accepted and not upset him. You could go with me -- as my wife."
