How the charts work
Charts rank books by real reading activity across the whole community, refreshed on a schedule, with the counting rule stated on the page.
For readers and authors · updated 2026-09-12
The Charts rank books by real reading activity — readers starting, progressing through and finishing them — not by sales or by anything an author can buy. The page says what each chart counts, an edition is refreshed on a schedule, and movement since the last edition is shown next to each entry. Authors are told when a book of theirs moves.
