When an author runs an active campaign, the book page shows Request ARC, and the ARC hub lists open opportunities. The campaign shows the deadline, formats, remaining slots and requirements, and your match — computed openly from your genres, tropes and language against the campaign's targeting. The match informs the author; it never decides for them.
Your request includes a short note to the author. Track it under My requests on the ARC hub and cancel while it is pending. If requirements are not met or slots are gone, the request is disabled with an honest reason — there is no waitlist.
