Books, series, campaigns and Journal entries attach to your pen name; one primary pen name per author in the beta.

Your pen name is your public author identity: its name, slug, bio and picture are what readers see at your author page, and books, series, campaigns and Journal entries attach to it. Edit it under Studio › Settings, where you can also add external links (newsletter, shop) shown on your page.
The beta exposes one primary pen name per author; publishing under several names is planned but not offered yet. The underlying account is never shown on your public page.

- Becoming an author — A reader upgrades from For authors; the upgrade keeps library, reviews and follows, adds a pen name and Studio, and cannot be undone.
- Identity marks — the seal, the nib, the book — One mark beside every name — a blue seal for a verified author, a plum nib for an author, a teal book for a reader. Verification asserts identity, not quality; it is granted by staff after a manual review and can be revoked.
- Publishing your first book — Create a book in Studio with synopsis, genres, tropes, warnings, language, cover and sample; it starts as a draft and you flip it to Coming soon or Published.
