Changing your password
Change your password under Settings › Account with your current one; a forgotten password is reset from the login page with a one-hour, single-use link.
For readers and authors · updated 2026-09-19
Signed in, change your password under Settings › Account — you need your current one. Changing it does not end your other sessions; use Sign out everywhere else for that.
If you have forgotten your password, ask for a reset link from the login page (Forgot password?, or Forgot your password?) with the e-mail address on the account: it works once, expires in an hour, and signs out every other device when you use it — see I forgot my password. Support can also send the same link from your account page; staff never set a password for you.

- I forgot my password — Ask for a reset link from the login page with the e-mail on your account; the link works once, expires in an hour, and signs out every other device when you use it.
- Signing out of every other device — Sign out everywhere else from Settings › Account; every earlier session ends on its next request.
- I cannot log in — Check the e-mail, then the password; a forgotten password is reset from the login page; a suspended or closed account says so.
