Closing your account

Settings › Account › Delete account closes your account: your profile, posts, reviews and comments are hidden immediately, you are signed out, and you cannot log back in. If you want a copy of your data first, download it before you close.

Thirty days later the account is permanently deleted — every row that was yours and every file you uploaded (photos, data exports, manuscripts). It cannot be undone from the product; within those thirty days, support can restore it if you write to us from the address on the account. After thirty days nothing can.

What stays: a one-line record that an account was deleted (no name — a hash of the address, the date, and counts of what was removed), the moderation trail with your account id removed from it, and financial history, which names no person. A reading circle you founded passes to its longest-standing moderator or member instead of closing.

Authors: your ARC campaigns, manuscripts, sample chapters, analytics and store links leave with you, and so do your pen names and everything you posted. Your books themselves stay in the catalogue under your pen name as a record — readers who shelved, reviewed or finished them keep all of that — with a note that the author has left; there is no author page, no ARC and no place on the charts for them any more. Readers who hold an approved ARC keep the downloads they already made.
