Plans, and what the beta unlocks
Readers never pay — every reader capability is included in every reader account; author plans exist with founding prices; nothing is charged during the beta.
For readers and authors · updated 2026-09-12
Readers never pay. There is no reader plan and there never will be: shelves, reviews, ARC access, smart shelves, saved searches, Goals, Insights, Wraps, Profile Studio, hosting Reading Circles and exporting your data are all part of every reader account, for as long as it exists. A reader's Settings › Billing says exactly that and nothing else.
Authors have plans — Author (free), Creator, Pro and Publisher (for teams) — with founding prices shown on the Pricing page. During the closed beta nothing is charged and every author feature is unlocked: an author's Settings › Billing shows their true plan and says so. No card is collected, and there is no checkout. When billing opens, authors will be told well in advance and nothing changes without their say.

- Working with a team on a pen name — Invite editors or managers to your pen name from Settings › Teams; they accept from their own account and work in Studio under your pen name.
- Downloading a copy of your data — Request an export from Settings › Privacy; it is built in the background, always free, and downloadable for a while.
