The five-step onboarding asks for genres, tropes and content to avoid; every step is skippable and every answer editable later.

After signup a short wizard asks about the genres you read, the tropes you love, and any content you would rather avoid, then offers a few authors to follow and books to shelve. Every step is skippable and nothing is locked in — your answers only shape recommendations and warnings.
You can run the wizard again or edit your answers later from Settings › Profile. Content you marked as avoid is kept out of recommendations and flagged with a warning where it appears elsewhere.
