Creating your account and profile
Sign up with an e-mail and password; pick reader or author once; your profile is editable any time.
For readers and authors · updated 2026-09-12
Sign up with an e-mail address and a password — that is all we ask for. At signup you choose one account type: a reader account or an author account (see Reader and author accounts). One person, one account: the Terms do not allow a second one.
Your profile carries a display name, a username, an optional photo and a short bio. Change any of them under Settings › Profile. The photo and the cover are chosen from the sets the product offers; there is no upload during the beta.
We collect no business or payment information at signup or anywhere else during the beta.

- Reader and author accounts — One account type per person: readers read, review and request ARCs; authors publish, run campaigns and write the Journal. A reader can upgrade once.
- Setting up your reading preferences — The five-step onboarding asks for genres, tropes and content to avoid; every step is skippable and every answer editable later.
- Privacy basics: who sees what — Library, progress, activity and followers each have their own visibility; the whole profile can be followers-only; no advertising data.
