How achievements work
Achievements are illustrated marks for things you actually did here — finishing books, turning up to Circle meetings, charting. Only the ones you have earned are shown, newest first, on your profile; each opens to say when and for what.

An achievement is an illustrated mark for something you did on Booklabria — a book finished, a Circle meeting attended, a month at the top of a chart. They work the way GitHub's do: only the achievements you have earned appear, there is nothing locked or greyed out to chase, and nobody is shown a list of what they have not done.
Where they show
Your earned achievements are one row of circles on your profile — in the side column on a desktop, under About on a phone — newest first, the first eight and a +N for the rest. Select any one to see the artwork, what it celebrates and the proof line: the day you earned it and what for ("Earned 12 Sep 2026 · The Ninth Passenger", "· September 2026 charts", "· Slow Burn Society meeting").
Some achievements have tiers. The circle carries a small ×2 / ×3 / ×4 when you have passed the next threshold; the thresholds grow steeply, so a ×3 is a real distance from a ×2. You hold each achievement once, at its highest tier.
Achievements follow your profile's visibility, and there is one switch of your own: Settings › Profile › Show achievements on my profile (on by default). Off, only you see the row.
When you earn or raise one you get a single notification under Social, and nothing by e-mail unless your Social e-mail preference asks for it.
Achievements are derived nightly from what really happened — your shelves, reviews, campaigns, Circles, goals — never bought, never awarded by hand, and never taken away.

Three achievements mark moments rather than habits. They were given once and will never be given again.

Questions people ask
I did the thing — where is my achievement? They are derived once a day, so allow until tomorrow. Being present at a meeting means having the Circle open during its window; a review counts once it is published; a goal counts once it is marked completed.
Can I hide one, or choose which show? The row shows everything you have earned, newest first, or nothing at all — the switch in Settings › Profile is the whole choice. There is no picking and no hiding of single achievements.
Why can't I see somebody's achievements? Either they turned the row off, or their profile is private (or followers-only and you do not follow them). Achievements never show more than the profile does.
